A⋅TE⋅D1 VR Display

A little while ago I started work on home building a VR display. Partly to get to know how the hardware works and partly because there do not seem to be much VR displays that run out of the box on linux. I at least got the display/headset part working. Next is getting the positional readout of the headset. In itself this should not be too difficult (there are chips and libraries for that). The difficult part is going to be getting tools like steam to recognise the device.
I made the headset somewhat modular. It should be relatively easy to attach a different display or to replace the lens holder by another for a different type of lens. Also most parts can be relatively easily moved allowing for fine tuning. The slots in the sides and top allow for easy attachment of stuff. I will probably attach the headset to an old skate helmet.
